As Friday the 13th was approaching, my instagram feed was full of tattoo flash sales. I absolutely love a good Friday the 13th tattoo deal! Luckily for me the first post I came across was from a tattoo apprentice I've been following for a while. The last time they did a flash sale all the booking slots got filled before I could enquire, I was gutted. So now I check the post time for this new flash.. 4 minutes ago ?! I immediately sent her a message to secure my slot. During our messages she was completely professional and kind, I sent a deposit over and bam, I got my booking!
On the day I arrived at the studio a little early to grab a drink and chill out for 10 minutes. The artist did post on her instagram that she may run over on time as of course she's still learning. My booking was for 3pm and at that time I was in the chair with a stencil on! Before the needle hit my skin the artist was professional in helping me pick placement, shaving the area and applying the stencil. She was so kind to me and constantly made sure I was comfortable. The tattoo itself took around thirty minutes, I was comfortable lying on my back and was completely distracted the whole time admiring the artwork that covered her studio booth, it was a beautiful environment. The artist would keep me up to date on how much she had left and what she was doing (line work or shading). I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I was comfortable and entertained!
After she finished the design she cleaned it and wrapped it up for me. Throughout the whole experience she was professional, friendly and kind. The tattoo itself is amazing and I was shocked when I found out she's only been tattooing for a year!

I know many people 'don't trust' apprentices because a tattoo is something you can be stuck with for life and apprentices don't have a huge amount of experience, although my time with Emmy was amazing. It was such a pleasant day and tattoo experience, I've had 'experienced tattoo artists' be much more unprofessional and rude with me! If you're reading this, it is your sign to see a tattoo apprentice! Any professional studio wouldn't let an apprentice tattoo you without them having skills and knowledge. It's safe, fun and you get to help them in their career and dream!
The artist I visited is @emmy.tattoos on instagram and is located in bournemouth. I would highly recommend seeing Emmy if you're near!!
Thank you for reading and have a lovely day <3
